Randy SchmelzelRandy Schmelzel, President

Located in Keokuk, IA, Randy has more than 35 years of experience in food products involving ingredients and prepared foods. He has held senior management positions with Celanese, Tastemaker, Burns Philp Foods, River Ranch Produce and Oberto Sausage Company.  Randy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla, and is a registered Professional Engineer. He joined ABI in 2003.


John FannonJohn Fannon, PhD, Vice President Technical Services

A resident of St. Louis, MO, John has more than 20 years experience in the Food Service industry. His career began with National Starch as their R & D Project Manager and continued at Penford Foods as their Director of Commercialization and Research. John received his Ph.D. in Food Science from Purdue University in 1991. He joined ABI in 2007.


Darlene YoungDarlene Young, Director of Finance

Located in Keokuk, IA Darlene has more than 25 years’ experience in finance and accounting administration. She joined the company in 2006 as the Accounting Manager and advanced to Financial Controller before becoming Director of Finance. Darlene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Quincy University with a minor in mathematics.


Tara_Perry_webTara Perry – Director of Sales & Marketing Administration

Located in Keokuk, IA, Tara has more than 18 years’ experience in sales and marketing administration.  She joined ABI in 2008 as the Executive Assistant to the President and advanced to Customer Service Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager before becoming Director of Sales & Marketing Administration.  In addition to her experience with trade show and sales support, Tara has worked with Customer requirements outside the continental USA in Canada, Japan, Europe, South and Central America.  Tara holds an MBA from Western Illinois University with concentrations in International Marketing, Management & Finance.
